Coronavirus: Traveling to Portugal (July 2022)

Publish date : October 12, 2022

When traveling to mainland Portugal, Azores, and Madeira, you no longer need to present a negative test or a vaccination/recovery certificate.

Once in Portugal

In mainland Portugal, you’re required to wear a mask in public transportation, taxis, and ride-shares, as well as in nursing homes and health facilities. In Madeira, in addition to the previously mentioned restrictions, you have to wear a mask in all health services — including pharmacies — and inter-island maritime transport for passengers. In the case of confirmed COVID infection, mask use is mandatory at all times when you’re out of the location of isolation until the 10th day after a) the onset of symptoms or b) a positive test result.
